STRENGTHENING YOUR MUSCLES

According to the American Council on Exercise (ACE), muscular strength is the ability to generate the maximal amount of muscle force while performing a particular exercise. Muscular endurance refers to the ability of a muscle to sustain repeated contractions against resistance for an extended period of time.

A strength exercise is any activity that makes your muscles work harder than usual. This increases your muscles' strength, size, power and endurance. The activities involve using your body weight or working against a resistance. Examples of this include weightlifting, bodyweight exercises and resistance band exercises.
